My name is John McQueeny, I obtained a Bachelors of Science in General Geology from the University of Kansas and I am a licensed Geologist Registrant in Training in the state of Missouri. I am a hard worker and I work well on my own or on a team. As a geology major I have traveled to many great locations of geological interest, some of which are displayed on this site.

My responsibilities in this position consisted of checking monitoring wells, helping to install monitoring wells, conduct percolation tests in the field, conduct infiltration tests in the field, work as a logger with drill crews, data entry using Excel, Word, gINT, and Google earth, create and assemble drill packets, assist in the writing of geological engineering reports, apply for permits with local government and state agencies, placing utility locates, compose property permission letters, conduct Atterberg tests, Moisture tests, Rock Break tests, Rock Modulus tests, Resistivity tests. Additionally I have worked directly with clients and subcontractors to complete projects. I have also trained in basic CMT skills such as slump tests, air content testing using the pressure method, and use of the nuclear density gauge.

My responsibility as a book seller was to provide great customer service, this includes helping customers to find particular items, make suggestions based on customer interactions, order items if unavailable in store, sell memberships, stock shelves, organize endcaps, and conduct all cashier level responsibilities ( Cash handling, process transactions, and returns) .
Kansas Geological Survey - Student Technical Support Assistant, Exploration Services - March 2019 to July 2020
Through my time working for KGS I worked in the Shop where my responsibilities were wide ranging. I aided in the construction of a land stringer seismic line, aided in the rehabilitation of large vehicles such as trucks equipped with a seismic vibrator, drilling rigs, salvage cabling and soldering on new ends, and semi-trucks, these responsibilities included basic maintenance and body work. Aided in the testing and assembly of 52 pin connectors. Construction of small parts with available wood and metal working supplies. Aid in the mapping of electrical and hydrolic lines on drill rigs. Basic MIG welding, Organize and Clean the shop. Maintain and Clean Water Level Tapes for use in the field. Travel to and from local vendors for parts and supplies in a state vehicle.
